About

Let me introduce myself; my name is
Ben Whateley-Harris and for as long as I can remember I have loved to travel and embark on adventures.

Adventures can come from the most bizarre situations and are not necessarily travel related; although some of my favorites have come from backpacking.

It all started back in 2005 when I graduated and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life.

I had been on a few trips previously but nothing to write home about. After doing the teenage 3 months up the East Coast of Australia and Camp America in 2002, I started to yearn  for something more.

Therefore I decided to embark on a trip to Ghana as a Volunteer English teacher. After that I was hooked.

My wanderings have taken me from Volunteering in Indonesia to the Middle East to Australasia via Africa and Europe.

I have loved every moment of it, especially when I dissappear with just my backpack.

This blog is a collection of travel stories, comical observations and tales of when I have wandered the globe.

My blog is called Ben's adventures for obvious reasons. But is it also called Sun burnt, dusty and confused. This is because I was constantly in this state while teaching in Africa. There was never a logical reason for anything and at any moment it could all go wrong. But I would not have had it any other way!

In other aspects of my life I am a rugby playing crosssfit loving fitness fanatic who puts our fires for a living.
With my orange chasing trophy in Totnes, Devon
I am also the 2013 World orange chasing champion (26-39 age category)!
